Closing Muster Update

31st August 2015

The final event of the 2015 club sailing calendar brought at last some good sailing weather and a good turnout of boats. 5 boats (Nona, Ravelís Bolero, Prefix, Moriah and Semlas) sailed across from Cardwell Bay to Holy Loch Marina for the muster. The race was won by Prefix who beat Ravelís Bolero by 53 seconds on corrected time. After some refreshments and some very successful mackerel fishing from the marina breakwater, the crews enjoyed a quick passage back to Cardwell Bay in the northwesterly breeze.

Annual Regatta - Saturday 8th August

The Annual Regatta will take place on Saturday 8th August. With the continued unsettled weather and low turnouts at club sailing events it has been decided not to plan for a barbecue this year. The race will proceed as planned and, instead of the barbecue, there will be a muster in the Clubhouse following racing when there will be the option to order in some food or go to the Cardwell Inn depending on numbers and the preference on the day.

Racing will take place on the usual CBSC courses (detailed in the year book which can be downloaded here) with a start time of 1300. Non-racers are welcome to come along and follow the race around.

Dowload the race start sequence details here.

Unmarked Dinghies in Dinghy Park

31st July 2015

Members are reminded that all dinghies which are stored in the dinghy park must be identified with the name of the boat (or member) to which they belong. Any unidentified dinghies may be removed from the compound. If the club has to remove a dinghy it may then be advertised for sale in the Clubhouse.

Latest Update on Club Moorings

Updated 21st April 2015

We are pleased to advise that the annual service of all of the club moorings on both the inner and outer trots is now completed.

Update on Club Moorings

Updated 17th April 2015

The moorings on the club trot in Cardwell Bay have yet to be checked for this season. This is due to the regular moorings contractor having problems sourcing a diver. The committee is also attempting to source a professional diver but have not been successful as yet. If anyone is aware of a diver who may be available please contact Eric Smith the Moorings Convener or another member of the committee. We will update members as soon as the work is completed.

Moorings contractor Cunningham Moorings were in Cardwell Bay to service a number of private moorings today. Please note that it is the responsibility of the owners of private moorings to arrange for their service. Cunningham will be back in the area as soon as possible to service the club trot. Any other owners of private moorings can request a service - contact details below.

New Racking for Dinghy Storage

30th March 2015

Work is well underway on the new racking for inflatable dinghies in the dinghy park as was discussed at the AGM. This includes  triangular supports for storing dinghies vertically on the east side fence. One of the new dinghy racks has also been erected and is roughly placed in situ. The second rack will be placed so that there is a 4 metre space between the fronts of the racks. This will be an ample space for loading, unloading and turning.  Both racks will be bolted to the ground. Plastic pipes will be fitted to all horizontal bars to aid loading and unloading of the dinghies.

Any feedback on the design should be provided to Alan Radford or any member of the committee by Tuesday 7th April.
